200MW PV Plant of Phase I Tashkent Solar-Storage Hybrid Project in Uzbekistan Completed and Handed Over

On April 15 local time, the 200MW PV Plant of Phase I Tashkent Solar-Storage Hybrid Project in Uzbekistan, jointly constructed by China Energy International Group Co., Ltd., China Energy Engineering Group Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Co., Ltd., and China Energy Engineering Group Anhui Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd., was granted the Taking-Over Certificate (TOC) by the Employer, marking the official handover of the PV plant and its transition into the warranty operation and maintenance phase.

Project Site

Tashkent Solar-Storage Hybrid Project, an IPP project initiated by ACWA Power in partnership with the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, comprises Phase I 200MW PV plant and Phase II 500MW/h energy storage project. The Phase I PV plant has completed grid connection and commenced power generation on April 27, while Phase II energy storage project is now under accelerated construction. The project, since its commencement of construction, has drawn widespread attention from the local government and various parties both in China and abroad. It has been inspected by the United Nations Secretary-General, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, and the Minister of Energy, who all highly affirmed CEEC’s commitment to delivering the project with exceptional quality and rigorous standards.

The project’s successful handover has further reinforced CEEC’s strategic partnership with ACWA Power, solidified the premium brand image of the Chinese enterprises in Uzbekistan and across the Central Asian market, and injected a strong impetus into Uzbekistan’s energy transition process.
