Energy China International Team Visits Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar

On March 17, Lyu Zexiang, chairman of Energy China International, visited Roman Sklyar, Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Prime Minister, in Beijing. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on enhancing collaboration in investment and construction in water conservancy, power energy, and other sectors in Kazakhstan within the China-Kazakhstan cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Liu Huailiang, chairman of CGGC International, also attended the meeting.

Roman Sklyar noted that Kazakhstan and China enjoy significant potential for cooperation in energy and infrastructure development. He expressed hope that Energy China would actively engage in projects spanning water conservancy, new energy, integrated transportation, and building materials sectors in Kazakhstan by leveraging its professional expertise and experience, thus contributing to stronger bilateral relations over the next “Golden Thirty Years”.

As noted by Lyu, with constant focus on the Kazakh market, Energy China has invested in and constructed a wide range of livelihood projects represented by the Shieli Cement Project. Energy China will invest more resources in Kazakhstan, actively establish interaction mechanisms with relevant ministries, commissions, and key enterprises, advance multi-sector cooperation, and accelerate the implementation of key projects to bolster China-Kazakhstan economic and trade ties.

Among other attendees were Kazakh Ambassador to China Shakhrat Nuryshev, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Alibek Bakayev, Vice Minister of Industry and Construction Olzhas Saparbekov, Vice Minister of Finance Dauren Kenbeil, and President of Kazakh Invest Yerzhan Yelekeyev.
